San Luis Valley Federal was chartered in 1899 establishing the bank as the oldest independent financial institution in the San Luis Valley. The bank has long been known as the leading provider of financial services required by the families and the business communities of the San Luis Valley.

San Luis Valley Federal operates under a thrift mutual charter. A mutual charter designates that the bank's depositors are members of the bank. We believe the mutual form of organization gives the bank the opportunity to efficiently provide the latest in banking services, offer benefits to members and assist with worthwhile projects in the community.
